Do you think you can dance like your favourite J-POP Idol? Then this is the contest to show what you got! The event will include anime rooms, cosplay, concerts, video games, contests and fun activities, a dealer’s room, an art show and auctions. The Convention is set to make waves at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines from September 17-18 2011. There were special screenings, and a Japanese eating contest that also spiced up the event premiere. “The Best of Anime” will even be bigger this year as it will double its hall space, specifically at Function Rooms 4 & 5 from its original space contained only in Function Room 5 last year. Convention-goers this year can expect more in terms of content, event highlights and Convention exclusives. The Convention this year will also be held for two (2) days (up from 1 day in 2010) to allow exhibitors and sponsors to showcase their displays for a longer period apart from having fun, worthwhile activities packed for visitors for two days “The Best of Anime 2011” aims to engage its audience with stimulating activities such as knowledge sharing forums and the like from key players of the creative industry. Criteria for judging: 1. Costume Accuracy -Does your costume look exactly like the real deal? Does it have problems the judges will readily see? 2. Cosplayer's Performance -Do you have surprises up your sleeve? Or will you just walk in and out of the stage? 3. Audience Reaction -did you make the audience feel like laughing their hearts out? Or did you inspire awe inside them? Or did you made them feel like crying? ---- The competitors' scores will be based on a 5-point judging system, wherein they will be rated 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest. Each Criteria will be rated this way individually. Afterwards, we will get the average of the 3 criterion, and the average point is the end-score of the competitor. The person with the highest point wins! ************************** GROUP COSPLAY -Compete alongside your friends and allies against other groups for the chance to be crowned the best group! Criteria for Judging: 1. Creativity - how creative is your skit? Do you have tricks up your sleeve that can mesmerize our judges? 2. Technical Consideration - Did you follow the technical limits of the group cosplay competition? (members per team,time alloted,BGM,etc) 3. Entertainment Value - how entertaining is your skit? Did you present yourself in full and flying colors? Things to consider 1. Members allowed per team: 4-10 people 2. Time alloted per team: 3-7 minutes 3. Backround music: MP3 format, please burn it on a CD 4. If you will need a Microphone,or any kind of props, please request it from the marshals at least 2 hours before the group cosplay performance so we can find a way for your request 5. Please consider your fellow cosplayers' safety and dont bring real weapons, anything with sharp edges, or anything that may endanger or hurt others. Be cautious with swinging your weapons as well! 6. If you have a special request, please ask it right away on our fanpage on FB, or on the date of the event itself. 7.
